I’ve been itching to get a boat again after watching the local tweeps from the sidelines talk about all the water they’ve been accessing lately. Being a wader only in Texas really limits the spots you can fish. Having a 4 door sedan and a Mini Cooper doesn’t make it easy to get the more popular kayak/SUP to the good put in spots either though.

This simple to use and easy to assemble cart wheel system fits under the Sea Eagle Kayaks, Paddle Skis and 285fpb and straps down with included nylon/plastic straps .
Choose the Wide version for Sea Eagle SE8, SE9, 124SMB, 8.10YT, 14SC and 440FC FoldCat. The only difference between Small EZ Cart and the Wide EZ Cart is the center bar. The 21" Multi Position center bar for the Small and the 43" Multi Position center bar for the Wide EZ Cart. Therefore each EZ Cart breaks down into three pieces (wheels can also be easily removed for more compact storage) the Center Bar and two 20" Wheel assemblies.
The Sea Eagle EZ Cart allows you to roll your Sea Eagle(great for any brand inflatable) from where you inflated it to where you launch it. Packs down for easy transport. Not recommended for our heaviest boats or with boats carrying an 8 or more horse power engine.

Hi Tim,
"I just finished fixing my rod holders to fish off the front of my SeaEagle 285 fpd. I sent you a few pictures that you may want to post. It may help someone else who is looking for ideas.
The pole holder lifts straight up to be removed. I wanted to keep the floor clear. When the rod is in the holder it sits right over the inside edge of the pontoon and out of the way.
As for the registration plate I used a old piece of 1/8" Plexiglas and purchased boat letter and numbers from Walmart. Cost around $3.00.

Mod #3 by Ed from Italy
HI Tim...Attached are a few photos of Mr. Ed’s Rudder 1.0. I mounted an old oar into a piece of aluminum channel which in turn I mounted the channel onto a 8” section of “L” bracket then secure the “L” bracket to the motor mount of the FPB. I have recently remounted the hinge onto a larger “L” bracket and have done away with the speed clamps. I drilled two holes through the “L” brackets and motor mount and now use two bolts to secure the rudder. It may not look too pretty but it works really well. I can extend or shorten the oar as needed, although, I keep it at one length and it has worked very well.
Notice I also mounted a transducer to the bottom of the oar. The cable is ran up through the oar so the cable doesn’t get caught on underwater or floating hazards. Since both my trolling motor and sonar are on quick release mounts I use just one set for both my larger aluminum boat and the FPB. I have to admit though I may have to go with a black oar for aesthetics. The longer “L” bracket enables me to use the rudder and transducer when I use my little Merc. 3.5. When using the gas engine I secure the rudder in the upright position by using a bungee cord secured to the rudder via the hole in the transducer mount i.e.. the square piece of aluminum, to where ever one wants to secure it to the boat. Works like a charm. A huge improvement over the back end of the boat being pushed around by the wind when fishing. With the wireless trolling motor I can set it on a particular compass heading, stand and pitch and flip without having to fight the back of the boat.
It has been too cold to try out my new little motor but as soon as it warms up (Next Month) I’ll function check the complete new set up. I’ll send you an updated photo or video of Ed’s FPB 2.85 2.0 version.

Recently I had the opportunity to test the new Sea Eagle 285ftp Frameless Pontoon Boat.
Take a look:
Sea Eagle 285fpb Pro - 4 Stars
Center Lake in beautiful Custer State Park in the Black Hills of South Dakota proved to be the perfect setting for our recent test of Sea Eagle's newest and smallest fishing boat...the Sea Eagle 285fpb Frameless Pontoon Boat. Constructed with Sea Eagle's bulletproof high pressure PVC fabric this little gem weighs just 42 pounds and goes from carry bag to "water ready" in under 10 minutes! Our test boat was equipped with Sea Eagle's Pro Option group which included a super comfortable swivel fishing seat set which proved to have excellent back support. Just aft in easy reach was the very robust motor-mount which I loaded up with a MinnKota 30 pound thrust electric trolling motor. The motor mount is capable of weights up to a 45 pounds so a 2 or 3 HP gas outboard would work well but we prefer the silent power from our little battery operated electric trolling motor which is easily recharged from our Motorhome's roof mounted solar panels. Also included with our Sea Eagle 285fpb Pro was the one-piece durable casting floor making it easy to stand and cast. Rowing is effortless and efficient due to the reformulated tall oarlock.

The 285 motored very nicely with my MinnKota Endura and would turn on a dime. I had to tend the motor when the wind came up which is to be expected in a 9' boat. An anchor is a must! I turned my swivel seat to the side, put my feet up on the pontoons while trolling which put both the motor tiller and the rod holder in easy reach. Nice!
The front foot brace is notched to allow the casting floorboard to slide under the foot brace's rear lip increasing stability when standing. This leaves several inches of uncovered black material in the rear which is where I placed the Battery Box.
This rock-steady Sea Eagle 285ftp Pro is a motor-powered one-man fishing machine and a 4 Star performer on the water and now only $649!
Sea Eagle 285fpb Deluxe- 5 Stars
Sea Eagle also offers this dandy fishing machine in the Sea Eagle 285 Deluxe version. Same boat as above but without the Casting Floor, Motormount, or Swivel Seat Set. They do include the inflatable Deluxe Kayak Seat which has got to be the most comfortable inflatable seat ever produced! With the Deluxe Kayak Seat resting on the floor there was plenty of room to row and boy would the 285 fly when rowed back-wards! It was also easy to push row efficiently. I tried to stand and cast without the wooden casting floor just to see if I could and although possible I was very unsteady and wouldn't recommend standing without the casting floor. I did put the motor mount back on and discovered that although you could still reach the motor the extension handle would be a nice addition. You can ala-carte the Sea Eagle 285 Deluxe adding just the options you need for your kind of fishing...and budget.
Removing the Pro options also lightened up the Sea Eagle 285 so that I could carry the Sea Eagle 285 deluxe version from the waters edge over 40 feet to my truck...single handed. I needed Crystal's help to launch with Pro Options installed. The inflated 285 traveled to the lake in the back of my Dodge Dakota Quad Cab with just a couple of feet hanging over the tailgate. Handy!"
I gave the Sea Eagle 285ftp Deluxe Verizon one more star than the Pro Option equipped Sea Eagle because the lighter weight Deluxe version is simplicity personified! A fast rigging rock-steady boat, a comfortable seat, efficient oars, a fishing pole...and you!
